The year 2015 was a busy and interesting one for the folks at Vaporfi, customers and employees alike. They opened more stores around the eastern part of America. The business eliminated some products and added others. Their e juice line expanded twice. Vaporfi continued to create e cigs for alternative vapers too. Let’s take a look at the catalogue, starting with their newer stuff first.
The Vaporfi Edge
Add e juice and this starter kit costs you around $150. What do you get for that price?
Vaporfi supplies a sub ohm device operated using just one button, no screen, and a 7-ml tank. For anyone who has been living in a cave, that is a huge tank. You get an 1800-mAh battery and up to 100 watts attained according to how you operate the system; it’s not adjustable using buttons.
Advanced vapers know how to create a lower or higher wattage by choosing a coil (0.2 ohms or 0.5 ohms) and setting airflow for more or less intake. Vaporfi’s website offers some suggestions too.
The Edge Tank can be used with temperature-sensitive coils which are capable of lower resistance and the tank can handle 0.1 ohms, but the battery is not TC or VW. That’s fine, though, because your tank comes off. Use it with any TC system you like.
Vaporfi VOX II
Consumers liked the shape of an original VOX but Vaporfi still makes an efficient and effective product with Version II. Battery capacity is 2500 mAh and 35A. With a micro-USB port built right in, you can recharge the battery and vape simultaneously or remove it: your choice.
When replacing the battery, your device is protected in case you turn the cell wrong-way around mixing negative and positive. In some devices this would cause a short, but not here. The VOX II can be locked into a particular mode and also locked against curious fingers.
Temperature protection provided by the built-in microchip prevents you from overheating your device. So if you want to reach the maximum 50W but that’s going to overheat your battery, the VOX II automatically dials down to lower output.
A starter kit is packaged with your choice of tank: the Volt, Edge, or Bolt.
The last of these is an RDA: rebuildable dripping atomizer. Vaporfi designed this for use with the original VOX but it’s just as suitable here. This 22-mm dripping atty comes with 4 extra O-rings, Kanthal wire, screws and a driver, plus a drip tip.
You met the Edge tank above. Vaporfi’s Volt supplies 4.5 ml capacity and a range of 0.5 to 1.2 ohms. It comes with an RBA base, though, so you can build to lower specs if you are skilled. Vapers also receive an extra glass tube, screws, a driver, Japanese organic cotton, and adjustable airflow.
Is this a nod to the old Miami Vice TV show? After all, Vaporfi is based in Miami, Florida. Whatever inspired the name, this is an inspired device similar in looks to the eGo One by JoyeTech.
There is a 2200-mAh battery, 2.5-ml tank, and one wide-bore glass and steel drip tip. The whole stainless steel shape is industrial looking with its rectangular window; kind of like the window on a rocket ship in old movies. Set your atomizer up for 0.5 ohms or 1.2 ohms with the coil heads provided. Airflow is adjustable but there’s no way to alter voltage or wattage.
The Orbit herbal vaporizer was joined by this pretty unit which is very similar in shape and size but adds more features. The screen shows you how hot your vapor is going to be and the level of your battery’s charge. This portable, wireless device provides a range of 350F to 430F and preheats in just 60 seconds. Choose red or black. Buttons light up too: this is a beautiful product.
The other starter kits are still there except for the e-hookah which they quickly launched and removed and the long-lived Air which was finally phased out (you can get something similar from sister company South Beach Smoke). Otherwise there’s still plenty of selection: a Pro kit in black, colors, or platinum; the Rebel II; a Rocket APV; and the Express. Many parts are interchangeable, so if you own the Vice, for instance, the tank works with a VOX II while the Vice battery fits to a Rebel, Volt, or Rocket Tank plus other products found off-site. That’s the way it works at Vaporfi.
E Juice Range
When they got their start, Vaporfi was famous for making e juice to order and customizing flavors according to what clients wanted to try. They could combine two or three flavors or just create a triple-shot, high-intensity e juice and pay just one low price.
The cost went up this year to $15.99 for 30 ml ($1 more than in 2014). Vaporfi added their Reserve and Grand Reserve collections too. Vapers demand high-vegetable glycerin juices for sub ohm vaping so Vaporfi answered with these two highly viscous, vapor rich series.
Between them, the three types of e juice come in numerous flavors made to mimic everything from traditional tobacco to toffee; drinks to desserts; and every fruit you can imagine. It’s still possible to create a new mix, but a lot of customers have already influenced the growing menu of potential blends so you don’t have to think too hard if you don’t want to. Join the Blend of the Month Club and just let the flavors come to your door every month while paying a monthly fee that earns you discounts and rewards.
Vaporfi runs a great loyalty program. Keep shopping and you’ll see the points grow in your account. Refer friends: that works too. Share a purchase on Facebook or write a review. Celebrate a birthday. Sign up for auto shipments. With these points your regular purchases of coil replacements and new equipment are cheaper than otherwise. Many vapers start here with an Express cigalike or a Pro e cig and continue with Vaporfi until they have graduated to the highest level of APV they care to run.
